He began his training at the National School of the Arts in Dakar, where he was then successively responsible for the plastic arts section, sewing and fashion cutting departments, then educational advisor before leaving for France were he was educated at the Cachan technical college.
Serigne Mbaye Camara received the medal of knight of the national order of merit and that of the national order of arts and letters.
