The following presentation highlights four artists from very different cultures: Ngimbi Bakambana Luve from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ousmane Bâ
from Senegal, currently living in Japan, Yadichinma Ukoha Kalu, a female artist from Nigeria, and MDD from Rwanda. Our collaboration with the first two has been
ongoing for several years, but we found it stimulating to incorporate two new talents into this exhibition. Yadichinma is currently in residence at the gallery. This
project is the result of collaboration with curator Jareh Das for the exhibition “In a Language of My Own,” where she co-curates. Meanwhile, the reference for MDD
comes from curator Nelson Niyakire. The young emerging Rwandan artist collaborates with the Atiss Dakar Gallery for his exhibition titled “Surrealism in the
Great Lakes,” of which Nelson is the co-curator. These last two projects were conceived for Partcours 12 in Dakar.
